Green & Fair: Skills, Safety, and Sustainability in Action

Farmers are reshaping their fields into spaces of productivity and resilience: growing crops that meet market demands while building stronger and more sustainable livelihoods for themselves. Through practical, hands-on skills, the Green & Fair initiative, funded by the Union for the Mediterranean, is helping transform these farmers’ everyday work into a model of safe, smart, and efficient farming.

As part of these efforts, each participant received essential agricultural tools, such as gloves, cutting scissors, eye and mouth protection, and organic nitrogen. These resources enable them to better protect themselves, care for their crops, and manage their fields with more proficiency. At the same time, they also promote environmentally responsible practices that preserve Lebanon’s soil and natural resources.

By pairing targeted training with the tangible support, Green & Fair ensures that newly acquired knowledge is translated into lasting gains in productivity, safety, and sustainability.

The Green and Fair project empowers vulnerable communities affected by climate change by transferring knowledge on sustainable agricultural practices. Fair trade principles are also at the core of this initiative, along with access to markets, to support better livelihoods and sustainable futures.
