Fair Trade Lebanon welcomed the Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD) on a field visit to Zahle, offering an on-the-ground look at how locally driven initiatives are creating tangible effect.

The visit brought together farmers, women producers, and cooperative members involved in the SHABAKE2, Tarik Akhdar, and Tawazon Tabie projects. Through direct exchanges, participants shared how these interventions have resulted in gained confidence, strengthened skills, and new possibilities taking root across the region.

  • At Zad El Rim, women producers described how upgraded trails enhanced their region’s touristic appeal, unlocking new opportunities for visibility, market access, and fresh connections beyond their community.
  • At Cave Abou Hanna, the team emphasized how project support helped establish a tasting room, now a welcoming space for visitors drawn by the area’s growing appeal.
