Between Two Chapters: Daily Support for Displaced Communities in Lebanon
In response to urgent needs in Lebanon, Fair Trade Lebanon mobilized a large-scale emergency food response to support displaced communities in the Bekaa and the South.
What began as a rapid intervention soon evolved into one of our most intensive field operations. Over the course of eight weeks, our teams carried out daily distributions, delivering approximately 60,389 ready-to-eat food kits across six shelters. These efforts reached families during an exceptionally difficult period, providing consistent, reliable support when it was needed most.
This phase of the response has now come to a close. The situation on the ground, however, remains critical.
This work was made possible through the support of our donor, Le Ministère de l’Europe et des Affaires étrangères, in coordination with the Food Security and Agriculture Cluster, and in close collaboration with our field teams, partner cooperatives, and most importantly, the communities who placed their trust in us.
While this chapter ends, it is not a conclusion. The lessons learned, on preparedness, adaptability, and the strength of local networks, will continue to shape our work moving forward.
To everyone who contributed to this effort: thank you.
