Supported by the Government of Canada through FAO, and in close partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and General Directorate of Cooperatives, this initiative casted a spotlight on four vital regions: Bekaa, North, Nabatieh, and Mount Lebanon. The project was dedicated to unraveling opportunities within value chains, with a special focus on women-led cooperatives and associations in the agri-food sector. As we delved into this study, our mission became clear: identifying inequalities, breaking barriers, and nurturing opportunities for women in every facet of agri-food value chains. The goal was to meticulous gather primary and secondary data, precisely examining gender gaps, inequalities, and hurdles within the heart of our targeted value chains and cooperatives.
