On the Ground with AECID: Witnessing Impact and Growth

To showcase the transformation taking shape on the ground, Fair Trade Lebanon recently welcomed a delegation from the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). The visit was more than a field trip, but an opportunity to witness firsthand the stories and successes behind the BOOSTLEB project. 

The highlight of the day was Sheghel Emeh, one of the standout beneficiaries of the initiative. There, the delegation met the producers behind the brand, who are transforming heritage into a thriving business with a twist. The day didn’t tackle reports and presentations, but conversations and everyday moments that showcased the real impact of the project. 

Through honest conversations and lived experiences emerged the evidence of how targeted support can strengthen livelihoods, build resilience, and unlock much needed independence for local entrepreneurs.  

These on-the-ground insights are now helping shape the LEBSCALE initiative, the next step in this journey. This is focused on expanding what works, deepening impact, and accelerating the growth of Lebanon’s local enterprises.
