Expertise:

SAWA was launched in response to a major displacement and humanitarian crisis in Lebanon. The project provides urgent food assistance to displaced households hosted in shelters across the Bekaa and Baalbek regions, while also responding to the growing vulnerability of local producers, cooperatives, and MSMEs affected by wider economic shocks and supply chain disruptions.

Through a dual approach, SAWA bridges immediate humanitarian relief with local economic support. Food and essential supplies are sourced from Lebanese producers and channeled through local partners and municipalities to reach displaced families in a timely manner. This approach ensures life-saving assistance for affected households while sustaining local livelihoods and reinforcing resilience across both displaced and host communities.
